Talyxians (タリクシアン Tarikushian) are the organism group which covers both of animals and plants, consisting of very wide, various, plural kinds; "Talyxian creatures" or "Talyxian organisms". They are common and basic living things which live in the Planet Tal. Most of the biota, natural environments, flora and fauna in Tal belong to Talyxian Biomes, a colony composed of this organism group. They have very alien, strange, complex features on their biology and ecology, that are greatly different from creatures which belong to Eltus organism group and common creatures on Earth.
A part of species in this group such as Talyxian-Stalkers and Rooters have a partial inorganic constituent in a surface of their body parts, it may look like some mechanical appearance, however, they are never machine, cyborg, or robot beings.
As they are fully different from Eltus creatures, they can be said to be a completely contrasting existence against Eltus. Actually, Eltus folks consider and distinguish them as clearly different and alien beings from themselves.
This article describes the common features of all Talyxians. To read each Talyxian species creatures, see each articles on the List of Talyxian Creatures and Areas within Talyxian Biome Realm.

Summary
In the classification of Talyxian organism group, the biological boundary and difference between animals and plants are very ambiguous or thin. In addition to this, even in the classification of their species, they have a strong unstableness and fluidity in a biological identity. Due to this, it is very difficult or impossible to define and classify strictly all kinds of them with the same way of biological law which Eltus organisms or common creatures on Earth have.
Their biology and ecology features very unparalleled, chaotic, various peculiarities, which are not seen in common Eltus and Earth creatures.
As some examples;
- Animals generally have gray or black blood, inner organs, and a core instead of red of those.
- Plants have no chlorophyll, do not display green tones. Instead, they are generally colored with reddish or grayish tones.
- Some species may show alternative genders rather than the simple binary female and male, sometimes up to four different genders.
- Some species may change their gender acquiredly depends on an environment surrounding of them.
- Some species never perform reproductive behavior between their own species, instead will be born through some kind of special and limited alternative way.
- As most of them generally display strong randomness in their appearance, shape, and form. It is not an actual mutational species nor subspecies capable, however. All of them are biologically the same species and just show only minor differences in appearance.
- Depends on the environment and situation surrounding of them, Talyxian genes may allow mixing and cross-breeding between totally difference species.
- Some may allow to perform 'grafting' between animals and plants if they have biologically similar genes each other.
And so on.
Name
The form of name "Talyxian-***" and "Talyxian" itself is generally treated as a scientific name, or speaking in a formal way.
Eltus folks usually call them while sharing the same name from Earth's creatures, or a simple common name of Tal's own things like Dondokos. As a prominent example, Eltus people usually call Talyxian-Stalkers as just "cats" while the name of "Talyxian-Stalker" is treated as a scientific name.
Eltus folks often use a word of "Alien biomes" as a generic name for a whole of Talyxians or Talyxian biomes. Or they often use also just word of "monster" for ferocious and harmful creatures like actinias.
In colloquial language, the name of "Talyxians" itself be used as respectable race name also for ones who have surely 'human right' like A part of T-stalkers in modern Gold Ring.
Talyxians and salt
Almost all Talyxian species creatures avoid salts for the unknown reasons. Salt is not inherently toxic to Talyxian creatures, but talyxian creatures have an inherent repulsion towards the touch of salt, especially on their mucous membrane areas. And they do feel intense pain and discomfort if salt is applied, especially to an open wound. For comparison, it is significantly more painful to Talyxians compared to those of the Eltus people.
The truth behind the biological relationship between salt and Talyxians is still a deeply unknown matter to Eltus. However, it is common knowledge among the Eltus people that salt is a very effective deterrent to almost all Talyxians.
Hizomi-Nonbon
One kind of excrement of Talyxian creatures that is excreted when they had ingested salts by eating Eltus creatures.
When some kind of harmful talyxian creatures has eaten Eltus people, they will excrete salts that are included in Eltus blood while taking a long time. And those salt excrement is wrapped by the black matter that has rubber-like hard quality. It will be shown as completely a lump of black thing when those are excreted. And there is an unalloyed crystal of the salt in center of those. If they took something that has highly-concentrated salt, they often wrap a whole of it without digestion.
Those things are called by various names according to each region, "Hizomi-Nonbon" is one of a popular name. But it often be called as "Hizomi" or "Nonbon" for the abbreviation. Eltus people use those things for the magic rituals. Because of this, people usually be going to take and crack it to get a crystal of salt if they found Hizomi-Nonbon.
