While rushing in to aid the children, Giten commandeers a bag of salt from one of the arena staff members. Meanwhile the actinia has already extinguished the lantern fire and has resumed its frenzied pursuit after the children.

With no time to lose, Giten swiftly leaps into the fray, placing himself between the children and the advancing beast. To their surprise and amazement, he reveals that his Talyxian wood cane holds a deadly secret.
