Upon meeting the sergal children, Ekay takes a moment to gaze down at one of the youngest of the group. Lost in thought, he muses aloud that it is about the age of his own brother, Pekk. Too young to properly speak, the sergal babe replies with a simple kitten-like “mew”.

Before he can continue reminiscing about his lost brother, Ekay is interrupted by the other sergals crying out in alarm. As predicted by the mysterious sergal’s sixth sense, the group identifies the source of what gave them an unsettling chilling sensation before — a bizarre, pulpy creature shuffling near one of their dwellings.
